Lower fees than most categories, but tighter margins, FCC rules and real counterfeit risk.

To sell electronics on Walmart, you list new items through a Walmart Marketplace seller account, pay a lower referral fee than most categories (8% for consumer electronics, a tiered rate for accessories), and follow Walmart's FCC rules for radio devices. Margins are thin and brands are protective, so the numbers matter more here than almost anywhere. Margenos is a Walmart reseller tool (Chrome extension and Android app) that shows whether a product is worth selling on Walmart Marketplace: fees, profit, ROI, sales estimates, every competing seller with stock, the Buy Box winner and the product's price and Buy Box history.
Electronics are split into several fee categories on Walmart's published schedule:
| Category | Referral fee |
|---|---|
| Consumer Electronics | 8% |
| Electronics Accessories | 15% on the portion up to $100; 8% on the portion over $100 |
| Personal Computers | 6% |
| Camera & Photo | 8% |
| Video Game Consoles | 8% |
Fees are a percentage of the total sales price, including shipping. Hypothetical examples: a $199 pair of headphones in Consumer Electronics pays 8% = $15.92. A $129.99 charging dock in Electronics Accessories pays 15% of the first $100 ($15.00) plus 8% of the remaining $29.99 ($2.40), or $17.40. A $24.99 phone case pays 15% = $3.75. Which category Walmart assigns matters, so confirm it in Seller Center. More on Walmart seller fees.
Electronics aren't on Walmart's general pre-approval list (software is), but Walmart's electronics policy sets firm rules:
Walmart's policy allows only new items unless you've been invited to its Resold program, so used or open-box electronics generally can't go on a new listing.
Accessories (chargers, cables, cases, earbuds, smart home add-ons) are the most common reseller items because they're small, cheap to ship and replaced often. Bigger-ticket electronics spike around Black Friday and Cyber Monday, back-to-school (laptops, calculators, headphones) and new product launches, when older models get discounted.
Prices in electronics fall over a product's life. A model that's profitable at launch can be underwater months later when the brand cuts the price or releases a successor.
Retail and clearance: discontinued models and open-box deals turn up, but open-box can't be sold as new. See Walmart clearance reselling. Online arbitrage: flash sales on accessories are the usual play; see online arbitrage on Walmart. Wholesale: authorized distributors give you invoices that protect you against IP claims; see Walmart wholesale.

WFS handles small accessories well. For lithium batteries, WFS requires packaged batteries to be separated to prevent short circuits and boxes to carry DOT-compliant markings, and DOT fully regulated hazardous items are prohibited in WFS. Fragile items need a six-sided rigid box. Compare costs on Walmart WFS fees.

Electronics aren't on Walmart's general pre-approval list, but radio devices must have FCC authorization and labeling, some items are banned, and many brands restrict who can sell them.
Walmart's policy allows only new items unless you've been invited to its Resold program. Check Seller Center for what your account can list.
Accessories can be, because the fees and shipping are low relative to price. Bigger electronics often compete with Walmart's own offer and falling prices, so check the numbers on each item.
