Physical, sealed and new only: fees, digital bans, launch timing and what resellers watch for.

To sell video games on Walmart, you need a Walmart Marketplace seller account and new, sealed physical games, consoles or accessories. Digital games, download codes and gift cards are prohibited. Walmart's schedule lists Software & Computer Video Games at 15% and Video Game Consoles at 8%. Margenos is a Walmart reseller tool (Chrome extension and Android app) that shows whether a product is worth selling on Walmart Marketplace: fees, profit, ROI, sales estimates, every competing seller with stock, the Buy Box winner and the product's price and Buy Box history.
| Category | Referral fee |
|---|---|
| Software & Computer Video Games | 15% |
| Video Game Consoles | 8% |
| Electronics Accessories | 15% on the portion up to $100; 8% on the portion over $100 |
Walmart's schedule doesn't separately name console game discs or controllers, so check which category your item maps to in Seller Center. Fees apply to the total sales price, including shipping.
Hypothetical examples: a $59.99 game at 15% pays $9.00. A $449 console at 8% pays $35.92. If a $69.99 controller falls under Electronics Accessories, it pays 15% = $10.50. See Walmart seller fees.
Video games revolve around launches and Q4. New consoles and big releases can sell out at retail, briefly pushing marketplace prices up. Collector's and limited editions often hold value longer than standard editions. Prices on standard games usually drop within months of release, and console bundles spike around Black Friday and the holidays.
Retail and clearance: clearance on older titles, limited editions and accessories; see Walmart clearance reselling. Online arbitrage: preorder and launch-day deals, plus sales on accessories; see online arbitrage on Walmart. Wholesale: distributors for repeatable accessories and evergreen titles; see Walmart wholesale.
Full process: how to know if a product will sell on Walmart.
Games are small and light, which suits WFS. Consoles are high value and fragile: WFS requires fragile items in a six-sided rigid box. Run Walmart WFS fees and remember that stock sitting through a price drop costs storage too.
