Toys and accessories are open; food, treats, supplements and medicines come with real rules.

To sell pet supplies on Walmart, you need a Walmart Marketplace seller account and new items in retail packaging. Hard goods like toys, beds, bowls and leashes are straightforward. Pet food, treats, supplements and medicines are a restricted area with labeling rules and enhanced vetting. The referral fee is 15% for Pet Supplies. Margenos is a Walmart reseller tool (Chrome extension and Android app) that shows whether a product is worth selling on Walmart Marketplace: fees, profit, ROI, sales estimates, every competing seller with stock, the Buy Box winner and the product's price and Buy Box history.
Walmart's published schedule lists Pet Supplies at 15% of the total sales price, with no price tiers. Shipping counts toward the total, and the fee is only charged when an item sells.
Hypothetical example: a $34.99 orthopedic dog bed with free shipping pays 15% = $5.25. A $12.99 chew toy pays $1.95, which leaves less room once you pay to ship it. Bulky beds and litter can cost more to ship than the fee itself. See Walmart seller fees.
Walmart's prohibited products overview names select pet product types as prohibited, and its pet foods, supplements and medicines policy says this is a restricted category: Walmart contacts sellers it approves for enhanced vetting. Key rules:
Some pet brands sell only through authorized retailers. See Walmart restricted brands.
Pet supplies are mostly replenishment and replacement: toys, chews, litter accessories, grooming tools, bowls, leashes, crates and beds. Flea and tick products rise in spring and summer, cooling mats and travel gear in summer, and holiday toys and stockings in Q4. New-pet supplies stay steady all year.
Retail and clearance: pet store and big-box clearance on toys, beds and seasonal items; see Walmart clearance reselling. Online arbitrage: works best for light accessories; see online arbitrage on Walmart. Wholesale: the safer route for consumables, because distributor invoices back up label approval and authenticity; see Walmart wholesale.
Full process: how to know if a product will sell on Walmart.
WFS can work for repeat-purchase pet items. Dated consumables follow the WFS rules: items expiring within 60 days won't be received, and items at 30 days or less are removed at your expense. Heavy, bulky items raise WFS fees and storage, so run WFS fees first.

Pet food is a restricted area. Walmart contacts sellers it approves for enhanced vetting, and food must meet FDA and AAFCO labeling rules and have label approval or state registration.
Only supplements that carry the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) quality seal are allowed. Products with CBD or hemp are prohibited.
Non-prescription flea and tick products are allowed but may be subject to FIFRA. Prescription products are prohibited.
Hard goods such as toys, bowls, leashes and grooming tools, because they avoid the food and medicine rules. Check profit, sellers and sales estimates first; Margenos shows them on the listing.
