Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) charges a per-unit fulfillment fee based on shipping weight, plus surcharges for some items, plus monthly storage for the space your inventory takes up. There are no setup or monthly subscription fees. Here's how each piece works.
Example: a 1.8 lb item in a 10 × 8 × 4 in box has a dimensional weight of 2.3 lb. Add 0.25 lb and round up, and the shipping weight is 3 lb.
| Shipping weight | WFS fulfillment fee per unit |
|---|---|
| 1 lb or less | $3.45 |
| 2 lb | $4.95 |
| 3 lb | $5.45 |
| 4–20 lb | $5.75 + $0.40 per lb over 4 lb |
| 21–30 lb | $15.55 + $0.40 per lb over 21 lb |
| 31–50 lb | $14.55 + $0.40 per lb over 31 lb |
| 51 lb and up | $17.55 + $0.40 per lb over 51 lb |
Items of 31 lb and up ship by ground and may take more than two days to arrive.
| Surcharge | Per unit |
|---|---|
| Selling price under $10 | +$1.00 |
| Apparel | +$0.50 |
| Hazardous materials (chemicals, aerosols, pesticides, batteries) | +$0.50 |
| Oversize 1: longest side over 48 in, median side over 30 in, or length + girth over 105 in | +$3.00 |
| Oversize 2: longest side over 96 in or length + girth over 130 in | +$20.00 (weight billed from 90 lb) |
Girth is 2 × (width + height). Items over 150 lb, longer than 108 in, or over 165 in in length + girth are big & bulky: $155 plus $0.80 per lb over 90 lb, with no other surcharges.
| Storage period | Per cubic foot per month |
|---|---|
| January–September | $0.75 |
| October–December, stored 30 days or less | $0.75 |
| October–December, stored more than 30 days | $2.25 |
| Stored 366–450 days | $2.25 |
| Stored more than 450 days | $7.50 |
Cubic feet = length × width × height (inches) ÷ 1,728. Send only what you can sell through in a month or two, especially from October to December, when storage triples for slow sellers.
WFS fees don't include Walmart's referral fee, which is charged on every sale and is 15% in most categories. To see whether an item is worth buying, put the referral fee, WFS fees and your cost together in the Walmart profit calculator, or see the full WFS fee guide. Deciding between WFS and Amazon? Find the shipping weight (the greater of unit weight or dimensional weight, plus 0.25 lb for packaging, rounded up to the next pound), look up the fulfillment fee for that weight, then add any surcharges: $1 if the price is under $10, $0.50 for apparel, $0.50 for hazmat, and $3 or $20 for oversize items. Storage is billed monthly per cubic foot.
An item with a shipping weight of 1 lb or less costs $3.45 to fulfill with WFS, before surcharges. Remember that 0.25 lb of packaging is added and the total is rounded up, so a 0.9 lb item ships at 2 lb and costs $4.95.
Dimensional weight is length x width x height in inches divided by 139. For items that weigh 1 lb or more, WFS charges on whichever is greater, the unit weight or the dimensional weight. Light but bulky items often cost more than their weight suggests.
WFS storage is $0.75 per cubic foot per month from January to September. From October to December, inventory stored more than 30 days costs $2.25 per cubic foot. Inventory stored 366 to 450 days costs $2.25, and over 450 days costs $7.50 per cubic foot per month.
Yes. Walmart offers a WFS cost estimator in Seller Center and on its WFS pricing page. It covers fulfillment and storage but not referral fees, returns or your profit. This calculator follows the same published rates and shows the steps.
No. WFS fees cover fulfillment and storage only. Walmart also charges a referral fee on every sale, usually 15% of the sale price depending on category. Use the Walmart profit calculator to see referral fees, WFS fees and profit together.
